Whitaker College Admission Requirements:

  • Test Results: The Mean SAT Scores are: 762 (Math), 710 (Verbal), 711 (Writing). ACT Composite Range: 33-35

  • A completed application form: MIT uses its own application form that can be found at http://my.mit.edu/.
  • Part 1: Biological Information. This initiates your application to MIT.
  • Part 2: Essays, Activities, & Academics: For guidance on this section of the application process, see the following page.
  • Letters of Recommendation: MIT asks applicants to provide letters of recommendation from two teachers. These should be from the following subjects: one from Math/Science, one from Humanities. In addition, your counselor should provide your transcript, a school profile, and a letter of recommendation. For further information on this, see the following page.
  • Standardized Test Requirements: Applicants are expected to complete either the SAT or ACT (plus Writing), in addition to two SAT II subject tests. One in Math (Math Level 1 or 2) and one in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).

  • Application fee: $75. If an applicant is experiencing financial hardship they may be eligible for a fee waiver. MIT accepts waivers via the College Board, SAT fee waivers, “Realize Your College Potential” program, the ACT, and NACAC.
  • International Students Language Requirements: Non-English applicants can either take the TOEFL and two SAT subject tests, one in math (level 1 or 2) and one in science (physics, chemistry, or biology e/m). Or they can take the same tests required for U.S. Applicants.
