The Brown college offers its students a wide range of programs including BA and BSc degrees, MA degrees and doctoral programs, as well as specialized certificated programs for undergraduate and graduate students.

Trinity College of Arts & Sciences is situated, with Duke University Hospital, in the West campus approximately a mile away from the East Campus. The campus also houses graduate and professional schools. Originally a male only college, Trinity College merged with a Women’s College in 1972 to form today’s Trinity College of Arts and Sciences.

The vibrant environment that the college provides is complemented by an internationally diverse community of scholars, actively involved in education and research. Frequently ranked highly, Duke has hit number 8 this year (2014) for undergraduate programs at doctoral granting institutions. Amongst the extensive list of notable alumni that Duke can boast is the 37th president of the United States, Richard Nixon, who graduated law in 1937. Melinda Gates is also an alumnus of Duke University.

Trinity College of Arts and Sciences Admission Requirements:

  • Test Results: Middle 50% Range of scores for accepted students to Arts and Sciences: SAT Verbal/Critical Reading: 680-790, SAT Math: 700-800, SAT Writing: 700-790. ACT Composite: 31-35.
  • Essay Submissions: The application includes a one-page personal essay. Additionally, a short essay question specific to Duke. One question is required, and Duke will also offer two optional prompts. The written essay/s can be submitted with the application, or after, but must be supplied by the deadline.

Other documents needed:

  • A completed application form: Applicants should submit either the Universal College Application or Common Application.
  • Secondary School Report: Applicants should submit this along with a Counsellor Recommendation.
  • High School Transcript.
  • Two Teacher Recommendations.
  • First Quarter Grades.
  • Midyear Grade Report: These should be submitted by deadline or when first marking period grades are available.
  • Final Transcript: To be submitted upon completion of High school and graduation
