Pomona College Admission Requirements:

  • Test Results: Pomona does not ask for a minimum GPA. Instead it “…seeks candidates who challenge themselves as much as possible in their high schools and perform at a high level, relative to peers at their school.”
  • Essay Submissions: Applicants submit the standard Common Application essay as well as a specific essay for Pomona, the prompts for which are automatically provided upon selecting Pomona as a recipient of your application.

Other documents needed:

  • A completed application form: The Common Application.
  • For early decision applicants: This can be submitted electronically. If this is not possible, then a PDF version can be downloaded here.
  • Standardized Testing: Pomona will accept the SAT Reasoning Test alongside two SAT subject tests. Alternatively, the ACT, with or without the written tests will be accepted.
  • A secondary school: Available through the Common Application
  • Two teacher evaluations: Teacher evaluation forms should be completed by teachers who have taught you in two core academic subjects for a minimum of one semester. Applicants can obtain the appropriate forms from the Common Application
  • A mid-year school report: Due in February, a form can be found on The Common Application
